1Are You Affiliated With Any Government or Non-profit agency?

No. We are a privately held, family-owned company founded by a Veteran dedicated to reuniting families with their assets.

2Do I or a Deceased Claimant Need To Be a Veteran To Receive Help From Your Organization?

No. We can assist any person or their heirs with an interest in the unclaimed property. The term “Veteran” is indicative of the organization being owned by a Veteran.

3How Did You Find This Money?

We audit different government agencies on a regular basis for funds due to citizens like yourself.

4How Did You Find Me?

Utilizing data derived from public records and databases.

5Why wasn’t I informed About These Funds?

Due to budget restraints and other factors, the holding agency is only required to make a cursory attempt to inform you about your funds.

6How Much is My Claim? Where Is It Being Held?

We are limited to only conducting a preliminary audit before we contact you. Some agencies move the funds between accounts and the update isn’t always conducted in a timely manner. Others do not make the specific amount known until authorization is obtained to do so. Once the paperwork and the full audit are complete, we can give you a more accurate amount and pinpoint the location of the funds.

7How Long Will It Take To Get My Money?

It varies. Some can be paid in as little as two months. Others can take 120 days or longer. It all depends on the type of claim and what, if any, additional documentation the agency requires. Missing documentation delays processing time. This is why it is very important to ensure you supply everything that is requested by the agency holding the money. VAR helps with this by making sure you have everything you need to get the initial claim moving forward quickly.

8Can I Get The Money Faster?

Unfortunately, we cannot control the speed at which the government agency operates. But we can provide an advance payment from a portion of your proceeds for qualified claims.

9Can I Find the Money On My Own?

You absolutely can. But if finding and claiming all unclaimed money was easy, we would not be in business. There are many types of unclaimed funds that can easily be found on the internet. But there are many that cannot. We spend the time and resources necessary to dig into these agencies looking for these funds. If you find money owed to you on the internet, congratulations. That is most likely money owed to you in addition to the money we are informing you about. Our focus is to search through government records that are not found or easily found on the internet ensuring none of your money is left on the government’s “table”.

10Why Should I Use Your Company?

Claiming funds require a motion or application to be filed with the government agency. If you’ve ever dealt with any government agency, you know how cumbersome, time-consuming, and frustrating it can be. Hiring an attorney on your own could be costly. Since recovering funds is not always 100% guaranteed, attorneys will typically charge an hourly rate for this type of work which needs to be paid whether or not they are successful in the recovery and will usually require a large initial deposit (retainer) before starting any work. With Veteran Asset Retrieval, we pay all attorney’s fees, retainers, and related expenses upfront and if we do not recover your funds you owe nothing! Most importantly, we deal with the government bureaucracy so you can focus on the more important things in life.

11Will I Need To Pay Anything Upfront?

No. Veteran Asset Retrieval, LLC. will advance all costs to process the claim. We work on a contingency basis so you pay nothing unless we successfully collect and our fee is deducted directly from the funds. This is all clearly spelled out in the agreement that protects both you and us.

12Is There a Time Limit on Retrieving the Funds?

Depending on the government agency, there may be a statute of limitations where if a certain amount of time passes your funds may be absorbed into the holding agency’s general fund and your right to claim is forfeited. In any case, it is wise to pursue the claim as soon as possible.

13What About Those Government, Unclaimed Money Scams I hear About?

Unfortunately, it is almost always due to a few unethical businesses and individuals that give an entire industry a bad reputation. There are unscrupulous businesses in every industry. This industry is no different. Scam companies ask for money upfront, bank account information, and credit card information.  None of which we require.  Legitimate recovery companies should give you information to verify your identity. To be safe they should be accredited members in good standing with the BBB and to be ultra-sure they should be vetted and certified by a state agency. VAR meets all of these criteria. We take pride in providing an ethical, valuable service that takes time, money, and resources to inform, locate, and assist businesses and individuals in retrieving thousands of dollars that in most cases they never knew existed.
